PHILADELPHIA -- Temple University junior Ana Maslesa is ranked 26th in the final ITA Northeast Regional fall ranking. Maslesa, a 2004 first team all-Atlantic 10 Conference selection, posted a 9-6 singles record during the fall campaign under first-year head coach Traci Green. Maslesa is the highest ranked player in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Maslesa, who posted a 19-10 record at #2 singles during the 2003-04 season, was bolstered by her impressive performance at the ITA Regional Tournament hosted by the University of Pennsylvania at the Robert Levy Tennis Pavilion. After receiving a first round bye, Maslesa defeated Marshall's Ashley Kroh, 6-4, 6-3, in a tight match to advance to the round of 32. There, Maslesa faced the tournament's #2 seed Megan Muth. After a strong first set in which she had two opportunities to win, the Split, Croatia native fell, 7-5. Muth took the second set, 6-1, to take the match.
Muth is currently ranked third in the Northeast Region while Kroh is the region's 28th-ranked player.
