12.19.04 | Women's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA- After scoring a career-high 28 points and tying a school record for free throws made in a game to lead the Owls to their first victory over a ranked team since the 1989 season, Cynthia Jordan earns her second consecutive Co-Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Honor.  Jordan was also named Philadelphia BIG 5 Player of the Week.

Jordan connected on 14-of-17 free throws, including seven of eight in the last two minutes of the game to allow Temple to garner a 71-60 win over #22 Rutgers. The senior is currently shooting 71% from the line.  The previous record of 14 free throws, held by Mimi Carroll vs. Maryland has stood untouched for 18 years.

Jordan averages 13.1 ppg, which ranks her second on the team in scoring but 13th in the league.  Her team-leading 4.00 apg comes in fourth in the league.

Temple is 5-3 overall and is currently on a two-game winning streak after topping Penn, 63-46, and Rutgers.  Next up is a Big 5 match-up with the Villanova Wildcats on Tuesday, December 21st at 7:30 p.m.
