DUPREE NAMED BIG 5 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA- After notching game-highs of 23 points and 15 boards to deny Villanova an out right Big 5 title on Tuesday night, junior Candice Dupree was voted the Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending December 26.

Dupree notched her third double-double of the season to lead Temple over Villanova, 64-57.  Her 15 rebounds were just two shy of a career-high.  The junior added three blocks and two steals to help Temple snap the Wildcats' 16 home game winning streak. 

Dupree leads Temple in scoring, rebounding, blocks and steals, averaging 14.8 ppg and 9.6 rpg. 

The Owls return from break to face Maryland-Eastern Shore on December 30 and Hampton on January 2.
