PHILADELPHIA-- The Temple women's basketball team and staff made Christmas special for one needy family, providing gifts, clothing and fun to a North Philadelphia woman and her children.  The Patricia Brown family, who live in a shelter where Staley provides Thanksgiving dinner for every year, came to the Liacouras Center on December 20th for an early Christmas party.  The Owls used their own money to buy presents for the children, who ranged in age from 15 to three-years old.

"Any time we can touch the lives of those less fortunate than ourselves, we're glad to do it," said Head Coach Dawn Staley.  "Our players really enjoyed doing this for the community."

Temple is 6-3 so far on the season and 2-0 in Big 5 play.  The Owls take on the Lady Hawks of Maryland Eastern Shore on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in their last contest of 2004.  Temple concludes non-conference play with a home game against Hampton before beginning its Atlantic 10 schedule on January 4th when the Owls welcome UMass.
