WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TO HOST DUQUESNE

PHILADELPHIA - Fresh off a 2-0 Ohio road trip with wins over Dayton and Xavier, the Temple women's basketball team will celebrate Lincoln's birthday by hosting Duquesne on February 12 at the Liacouras Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Temple (13-8, 9-1 A-10) has won four of its last five games and leads the A-10 East. Duquesne (12-10, 7-4 A-10) is riding a two-game win streak and is the number two team in the A-10 West. The Owls lead the all-time series 20-10 and Temple won the last meeting between the two schools, 77-44 on February 20, 2003 at the A.J. Palumbo Center.

Sophomore center Candice Dupree continues to lead the Owls in scoring (13.9 ppg.) and rebounding (7.3 rpg.). Dupree is also second in the conference in field goal percentage (58.4 percent). Junior guard Cynthia Jordan tops Temple in assists (4.1 apg.) and leads the A-10 in assist/turnover ratio (1.93/1).

Senior guard Candace Futrell leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks 13th in the nation in scoring (21.0 ppg.). Futrell has four games where she has scored 30 or more points and also has four double-doubles on the season. Sophomore forward Nicole Sinclair is the Dukes' top rebounder (7.6 rpg.)

The game will be broadcast over the internet through Yahoo sports with Joe Heyer calling the action.
