SOFTBALL'S GUTSCHER EARNS A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple University junior Laura Gutscher earned Atlantic 10 Softball Player of the Week honors for the week ending February 22. Gutscher, the Owls' right-fielder, was 7-17 with one triple, two home runs, seven RBIs, and a stolen base in five games at the USF/Best Western All Suites Tournament in Tampa, FL February 20-23.

Since transferring to Temple from Briarcliffe Junior College, Gutscher has made an immediate impact in the Owls' line up. In Temple's three-game opening weekend at the Triangle Classic, Gutscher went 3-9 with one double, one home run and an RBI.

Gutscher and the Temple softball team will be back in action on March 14-17 in the Speedline Invitational at Plant City, FL.
