DAVID JONES NAMED WOMEN'S SOCCER COACH

"David made the best of a tough situation this season, taking over the team in September," said Bradshaw. "He was able to get the players to buy into his approach in a short period of time, and the improvement on the field was noticeable. His commitment to the program and its future made it an easy decision."
Prior to Jones' interim coaching position with the women's team, he served as an assistant coach for two seasons with the Temple men's soccer team. During his tenure with the men's team, Jones aided in the rebuilding of the 2003 men's soccer team, which advanced to the first Atlantic 10 Championship game in Temple history.
"I am excited about coming on full-time with the team and getting into the swing of recruiting and preparing for next season. Coaching at this level has been a goal of mine and Temple has given me a great opportunity to build the program. I look forward to the challenge," stated Jones.
Besides his coaching experience at Temple, Jones has served as both the girls' and boys' soccer coach at North Penn High School (Lansdale, Pa.). Prior to that, Jones guided Gloucester County College to the NJCAA National Championships in 1994 and 1995.
A standout player at Elizabethtown College ('86), Jones was selected to the 1985 NSCAA First All-American team and played in the 1986 Senior Bowl. He played professional soccer with the Bray Wanderers in Bray, Ireland and the Philadelphia Freedom in the USISL. Jones also has administrative experience, serving as director of sales and player personnel with the Philadelphia KiXX.
In addition to his coaching duties, Jones is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Special Education at Temple University.
