Offensively, the sticks were swinging early for the Owls as they scored their initial run in the first. With two outs, senior Lynsey Grace singled to left field. With sophomore Lauren Evans at the plate, Grace stole second. Following Evans's walk, senior Alexis Gary doubled to the left centerfield gap to score Grace and put the Owls up, 1-0.
Grace nailed a solo homerun to left centerfield in the top of the third to increase Temple's lead, 2-0.
St. Francis earned its lone run in the bottom of the third. With one runner on first base, a fly ball double to left centerfield scored the runner.
Temple scored big in the fifth, crossing the plate five times to advance its lead, 7-1. Leading off the inning, senior Katie Weigle singled and then stole second. Grace laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance Weigle to third. Evans drove in the run with a base hit bunt, giving the Owls a 3-1 lead. Evans advanced to second on an error by the St. Francis catcher. With Gary at the plate Evans moved to third on a ball-four wild pitch. Repsher took advantage of two runners in scoring position and nailed a three-run homer. With two outs in the inning freshman Emily Moller kept the Owls alive with a double hit to the right field fence. Junior Melissa McCartney singled and allowed Moller to score the final run of the inning as McCartney evaded a run-down between first and second.
In the sixth inning Moller dropped a pop fly into the right field gap to initiate a two-run scoring stanza. Freshman Dana Richards followed with a base hit on a fly ball to left field. Freshman Makeala Compton reached first on fielder's choice as Moller was thrown out at third. The following batter, senior Dawn Fegeley, walked to load the bases. Freshman Shawn Casey drove in two runs on a hard single to right field.
