3.15.04 | Softball
PHILADELPHIA -- Temple University freshman Adrienne Respher was selected as the Atlantic 10 Softball Co-Rookie of the Week for the week ending March 14. In the past two weeks, Repsher hit .454 (15-33) to lead the Owls to a 9-6 finish in their 15 game spring break road trip. Repsher shares the honor with Fordham's Sara Kinney.
Repsher finished the two-week span with four doubles, three home runs, ten RBIs, and four stolen bases. In her best game of season, Repsher nailed a three-run homer to lead the Owls over St. Francis (N.Y.), 9-1, on March 12.
Repsher, the 2003 Gatorade Player of the Year, joined the Owls from Nazareth Area High School.
Repsher is the second Temple softball player to earn A-10 player of the week honors this season. In the opening week of the season Katherine White was selected the A-10 Pitcher of the Week.
With Repsher's efforts, the Owls returned from their road trip with a 12-11 record. The Temple softball team opens at home this weekend against Hartford at the new Ambler Softball Complex.
