TEMPLE FOOTBALL PLAYER RIAN "GOO" WALLACE NAMED TO ESPN'S HOT 100 LIST

Temple junior linebacker Rian "Goo" Wallace has been named to ESPN's "Hot 100" list as one of the top Division I-A football players for this upcoming season. Wallace, a Pottstown, Pa. native, was No. 86 on the list as selected by ESPN The Magazine's Bruce Feldman.

Wallace (6-4, 245) had the sixth-best single-season tackle output in Temple history in 2003, posting 148 tackles (97 solo) while also registering 19.5 TFLs to earn Second Team All-America honors from CollegeFootballNews.com. A Second Team All-Big East choice, he ranked second in the Conference and sixth nationally in total tackles (12.33 per game), first in the league and eighth nationally in solo tackles (8.08 per game) and tied for first in the Big East and tied for 11th nationally in TFLs (1.63 per game)

Wallace was the Owls Defensive M.V.P. last year and will be the Big East's top returning tackler in 2004. He was a named a Fourth Team Freshman All-American by The Sporting News in 2002.
