PHILADELPHIA - Senior Tiffany Pulaski scored a team-high two goals but it was not enough as the Temple lacrosse team suffered an 8-5 loss to Penn State on March 23 at Geasey Field. The Owls fell to 1-3 on the season, while Penn State improved to 2-5.

Freshman Casey Cech also had a two point afternoon with a goal and an assist. Fellow freshmen Katie Yori and Allison Frengs each netted a goal for Temple. Megan McLouth saw all the action in goal and recorded 13 saves.

Katie Jeschke led Penn State with two goals. Lori Havrilla (1 goal, 2 assists) and Katie Hartman (1 goal, 2 assists) also had multi-point games for the Nittany Lions.

The Owls struck first on the scoreboard with the freshman combination of Frengs, who scored the goal and Cech who garned the assist in the first five minutes of the game. Penn State answered a little over four minutes later on a goal by Havrilla and less than two minutes after that, Hartman scored to give the Nittany Lions their first lead. Pulaski then scored her first to knot the game at two but Penn State closed the first half with three unanswered goals to grab a 5-2 haltime advantage.

The score would swell to 8-2 as Penn State opened the second half with three more goals. Temple answered with three goals of its own but the Owls could not complete the comeback.

Up next for Temple is a Friday afternoon road test as the Owls face Old Dominion on March 26 at 3:00 p.m.
