LACROSSE FALLS TO 4TH-RANKED VIRGINIA, 19-5

3.27.04 | Women's Lacrosse

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA - Megan Condon had a team-high three points on a goal and two assists but the Temple lacrosse team could not withstand an offensive assault from the University of Virginia in a 19-5 loss on March 27. With the loss to the No. 4 Cavaliers (8-2), the Owls fall to 2-4 on the season.

Johna Capaldo was the only other multi-point performer for Temple with a goal and an assist. Tiffany Pulaski, Allison Frengs and Casey Cech also had goals for the Owls. Nicole Cataldo added an assist for Temple.

Tyler Leachman led the Cavaliers with five goals and an assist. Goalie Andrea Pfeiffer had eight saves for Virginia.

Virginia struck first when the game was nearly seven minutes old but the Owls would get an equalizer less than 20 seconds later on Condon's tally. The Cavaliers then went on an 11-1 run to close the first half with a 12-2 advantage. Virginia opened the second half on a 5-1 run to effectively eliminate any hopes of a Temple comeback.

The Owls return home to host North Carolina on Friday, April 2 at Geasey Field. Game time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
