RICHMOND ENDS TEMPLE'S QUEST TO REPEAT AS WOMEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONS

COLLEGE PARK, MD - Top-seed Richmond put an end to Temple's quest to repeat as Atlantic 10 women's tennis champions with a 4-1 semifinal win Saturday at The Tennis Center at College Park. The Owls, seeded fourth in this year's Championship, will now play for third place against third-seed UMass on Sunday (11:00 a.m.).

The Owls' lone win on the day came at number two singles as sophomore Ana Maslesa defeated UR's Lindsay Cox, 7-5, 6-0. Senior Danira Penic was leading her match at number one singles, 6-3, 4-2, over Beatrice Grasu, but the Spiders picked up the decisive fourth point before it was completed.
