TEMPLE FOOTBALL TO CONCLUDE SPRING DRILLS WITH ANNUAL CHERRY & WHITE GAME THIS SATURDAY

Admission is free to the event that will feature a picnic with food and drink compliments of Hatfield Quality Meats, Wonder/Hostess Bakery, Pepsi and Origlio Distributors. "Hooter" the mascot will be on hand, as will cheerleaders, to support the 2004 Temple Owls. The picnic will also feature inflatables, games, prizes, balloons and more.
Junior quarterback Walter Washington, who concluded the 2003 campaign by averaging 315 yards of offense in the final three games against nationally-ranked opponents, will be on display as one of 22 scholarship student-athletes participating in their first spring game. Washington will direct an offense under the leadership of Cherry head coach Nick Rapone. Junior Mike McGann, a local product from Havertown, Pa. who ranks third at Temple in career passing yards, will be at quarterback for the White squad that will be under the direction of coach Jim Turner.
Seventh-year head coach Bobby Wallace will oversee the game that will consist of four, 15-minute quarters and will utilize a running clock. The game clock will stop in-between series and after TDs. The game clock will function in a standard manner for the final two minutes of the second and fourth quarters.
Wallace will be available for interviews prior to the game at approximately 1:00 p.m. Student-athletes, Wallace and assistant coaches will be available for interviews at the conclusion of the contest.
