ZAMIR COBB SIGNS ROOKIE FREE AGENT CONTRACT WITH PITTSBURGH STEELERS

Cobb (6-0, 185) played in 39 career games (33 starts) for the Owls from 2000-03 and made a school record 165 catches for 1,856 yards, fourth most in Temple history. He also gained 511 yards on 49 punt returns for a 10.4 average, tops in the program annals.
This past season, Cobb ranked 21st nationally in receptions per game (6.17) and 35th in punt return average (10.81). He received Temple's most valuable player award at the Bert Bell Memorial Award Dinner sponsored by Eagles Fly For Leukemia in December.
Unable to participate under NCAA guidelines as a true freshman in 1999, Cobb, a social work major, completed the necessary coursework to earn an additional season of eligibility in 2003. Cited on the Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll multiple semesters, he is married to wife Ashley and has a son, Zion. Zamir, short for Zamir Abdul-Hakim, means "heart, mind and conscious" in Arabic.
