WATKINS, REPSHER NAMED SECOND TEAM ALL-REGION IN SOFTBALL

Watkins, who posted an 11-2 overall record (0.82 ERA), led the Atlantic 10 with a 0.70 ERA in conference play (7-0 record). Her 0.82 overall ERA ranks sixth on the Temple all-time season list. Watkins' .846 winning percentage ranks second on the Temple single season records list. At the NCAA Regional Tournament Watkins pitched a strong three innings in relief against eventual Region 1 Champions Oklahoma. She gave up only one hit and struck out two Sooners. The Earlville, Pa. native (Boyertown HS) started and took the loss against ninth-ranked Louisiana-Lafayette in her other appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
In her inaugural season with the Owls, Repsher added a reliable glove at first base and a threat at the plate. Against UC Santa Barbara in the NCAA Region 1 Championship on Thursday, May 10, Repsher drove in the first Temple run ever scored in an NCAA Regional Tournament. Repsher, a former Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the Year, led the Atlantic 10 with 11 doubles this season. The Nazareth, Pa. native (Nazareth Area) produced the Owls' third-best batting average (.294), ranked second in slugging percentage (.462), RBI (19), runs (15) and total bases (55).
The Owls finished the 2004 campaign with a 30-18 record. It marked just the third 30-win campaign in school history.
