LACROSSE TO FACE THIRD SEEDED MARYLAND IN NCAA FIRST ROUND REMATCH

PHILADELPHIA - The 2004 Atlantic 10 Champion Temple lacrosse team (11-7) will face No. 3 seed Maryland (14-4) in an NCAA Tournament first round rematch on Thursday, May 13 at 4:00 p.m. at Maryland's Ludwig Field. The Owls met the Terrapins on Maryland's home grass in the NCAA Tournament one year ago and Temple suffered a 26-6 defeat.
Senior Tiffany Pulaski, fresh off her five-goal performance in the A-10 Championship, will lead her young team into College Park, Maryland to face a Terrapin team that is making its 20th appearance in the NCAA Tourney and has won 10 national championships. Pulaski tops the Owls with 69 points (58 goals, 11 assists). Junior goalie Megan McLouth, Temple's top netminder had 183 saves and 167 goals against this season for a .523 save percentage. The Owls are two-time national champions (1984, 1988) in women's lacrosse.
Senior Kelly Coppedge leads Maryland with 87 points (64 goals, 23 assists). Junior goalie Kirah Miles has 156 saves and 132 goals against and owns a .542 save percentage.
