TEMPLE ANNOUNCES FALL SOFTBALL SCHEDULE

The Owls will kick off their fall season on Saturday, September 11 at the Ambler Sports Complex when they will take on Kutztown University at 10:00 a.m. The Owls then play Wagner at 11:45 a.m. with Kutztown and Wagner squaring off at 1:30 pm to complete Temple Fall Classic I. The next day, Sunday, September 12th, Temple will host West Chester University and Holy Family University in Temple Fall Classic II.
The Temple Fall Classic III, to be held on Saturday, September 18, will see the Owls face Rider University and Shippensburg University. Temple played Rider last season, defeating the Broncs, 8-1. On Sunday, September 19 the Cherry and White will bring Princeton University and the University of Delaware to Ambler Field for Temple Fall Classic IV.
The following weekend, September 25-26, Temple will compete in the prestigious Carol Weil Tournament in Allentown, PA.
In the final Temple Fall Classic of the season, the Owls will face local rivals Villanova and Penn in a two-day tournament held on Saturday (10/2) and Sunday (10/3). Temple split a doubleheader with Villanova last spring, winning the first game, 1-0, and losing the second, 4-1. The Owls defeated the Quakers, 4-0, in their only meeting last spring.
Head coach Rocci Pignoli led the Temple softball team to a 30-18 overall record in 2004 and a first-ever Atlantic 10 Championship and NCAA berth.
