TEMPLE FALLS TO RIDER, 5-1

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - The Temple women's soccer team suffered a 5-1 loss at the hands of the Rider Broncs Wednesday night. The loss drops Temple's record to 2-2 while Rider improves to 3-1.

The game started out in Temple's favor as it began the scoring in the 17th minute of play. Stephanie Vietry took a shot from 25 yards out for an unassisted goal. It was Vietry's second goal of the season.

All of Rider's goals came in the second half of the match. Tami Coyle had two goals for the Broncs, the first coming off a penalty kick in the 66th minute of play. Coyle also notched an assist on a later goal by Andrea Guiliani. Aileen Ascolese and Stephanie Best scored the remaining pair of tallies for Rider.

The game marked Jackie Mauro's return in goal. Mauro had been sidelined up to this point in the season with a wrist injury. Despite suffering the loss, she posted 12 saves over the complete game.

Kim Carter, in goal for the Broncs, notched one save.

The Owls return home to Ambler Soccer Field on Sunday, September 19. They will be taking on the University Delaware Blue Hens. Match time is 1:00 p.m.
