WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO DELAWARE, 3-0

AMBLER, PA -- Temple's women's soccer team struggled offensively in dropping a 3-0 decision to visiting Delaware Sunday. Temple suffered its second shutout of the season annd the Owls dipped below .500 mark for the first time this season. Temple is now 2-3 on the season while the Blue Hens improve to 5-1-2.

Delaware, on the other hand, put up strong offensive numbers against the Owls, taking 23 shots to Temple's five. Allison Kendro recorded a natural hat-trick to account for all the scoring in the match. The first came in the 20th minute when Kendro brought the ball down the right side and scored unassisted. In the second half, Kendro tallied two more, one on an assist from teammate Mary Beth Creed, and the other off an assist by Melissa Kunisky.

Jackie Mauro made her second appearance of the season in goal for the Owls. Despite being tagged for three goals, Mauro posted a strong 11 saves, bringing her season total to 23 over two games. Elizabeth Tarasevich, who replaced Mauro with 19 minutes left to play in the second half, added two saves.

Lindsay Shover, in goal for the Blue Hens for the majority of the game, notched three saves.

The Owls' next match will be at Siena on Wednesday, September 22. They will return home to Ambler Field on Friday, September 24 at 4:00 pm to take on Saint Joseph's in the Atlantic Conference opener for both teams.
