WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO SAINT JOSEPH'S 1-0

AMBLER, PA - The Temple women's soccer team dropped its Atlantic 10 Conference opener to Saint Joseph's, 1-0, at Ambler Field on Friday afternoon. It was the fourth consecutive loss for the Owls, dropping their record to 2-5 overall. Saint Joseph's raised its record to 3-5 (1-0 Atlantic 10).

The lone goal of the match was scored by sophomore Ali Wean in the 29th minute.

Although the score did not fall in Temple's favor, it played a very even game with the Hawks, challenging them several times over the course of play. Temple took a total of seven shots, six of them on goal, while Saint Joseph's took nine, five of them on goal.

Jackie Mauro notched four saves for the Owls in goal.

Hawks goalie Jen Kuhn recorded six saves and earned the shutout.

The Owls' next home match is on Sunday, September 26 at the Ambler Soccer Field. Temple will be taking on Delaware State (1:00 p.m.).
