MASLESA, SEIVERLING WIN SINGLES MATCHES AT CISSIE LEARY INVITATIONAL

PHILADELPHIA - Juniors Ana Maslesa and Laura Seiverling each won consolation singles matches to lead the Temple women's tennis team in the second day of competition at the Cissie Leary Invitational.  The tournament, hosted by Penn, concludes Sunday.

Maslesa came from behind to defeat Maryland's Marianne Baker, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 in her second round consolation match before falling to Harvard's Elisa O'Riain, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.

Seiverling first defeated Dasha Leonyuk of Columbia University, in a second round consolation match before falling, 6-1, 6-1 to Cecilia Derkin of Harvard.  Seiverling was leading 5-2 in the first set when Leonyuk retired from the match.

Lauren Verrall, the only other Owl to compete on the day, dropped her singles match, 6-1, 6-0, to Jenny Shular of Penn State.
