TEMPLE FALLS TO NIAGARA 3-0

NIAGARA, NY - The Temple women's soccer team suffered its first defeat of the season today in a 3-0 loss to Niagara University. The game was the first of two for the Owls in this weekend's Niagara Tournament. With the win Niagara lifts its record to 3-0, while Temple falls to 1-1.

Emily Montgomery started the scoring for Niagara in the 29th minute of play when she put one in off a corner kick volley. Kaelyn Greenland and Amber Niece were credited the assists.

Ten minutes later Niagara scored again when Montgomery posted her second goal of the game. Niece and Jenni Greiner assisted on the play that culminated in Montgomery's header into the goal.

The final goal of the game was an unassisted tally by Michelle Del Monte.

Sophomore Elizabeth Tarasevich logged her second complete game of the season in goal for the Owls. She continues to stand in for the injured Jackie Mauro. Despite suffering the loss, Tarasevich posted a strong nine saves.

Katy Owings, in goal for Niagara, made five saves.

Temple is back in action Sunday when it takes on Canisius in its second and final game of the Niagara Tournament.
