DARIUS TAYLOR NAMED ASSISTANT WOMEN'S BASKETBALL COACH

PHILADELPHIA - Former University of Michigan standout Darius Taylor has been named an assistant women's basketball coach at Temple University, it was announced today by Athletics Director Bill Bradshaw. Taylor's hiring completes the staff of head women's basketball coach Dawn Staley.
Taylor was most recently the Assistant Director of Competitive Programs at USA Basketball. He was a four-year letterwinner and co-captain as a senior at Michigan where he became a Big Ten Academic All-American. Taylor worked with the USA Basketball women's program overseeing team operations during the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Taylor brings a varied background to the Temple program. He has worked as an intern with the Big Ten Conference, has been a production assistant with Halo Sports, served as a substitute teacher for the Chicago Public School System and worked in marketing at Nike.
Taylor is a 2000 graduate of Michigan where he earned a Bachelor of Arts honors degree in Sport Management and Communications.
