DALTON LEADS WOMEN'S SOCCER TO 6-2 WIN OVER CANISIUS

Dalton, who was named to the All-Tournament team along with senior back Courtney Eaton, started the scoring with a goal in the 21st minute. She then assisted on Samantha Vietry's tally 90 seconds later to put the Owls ahead 2-0. For Vietry it was her second goal of the season.
Stephanie Karst connected on a goal for Canisius in the 36th minute to cut the margin in half. The score stayed 2-1 for the remainder of the first half.
Heidi Wein tied the game with a goal at the start of the second half, but then the Owls took the game over offensively.
Junior forward Kate Lamplugh would provide the game-winner two minutes later with a high shot just past Canisius goalkeeper Jenna Gage, Then sophomore forward Kelly Lare scored back-to-back goals over a seven-minute span to make it 5-2 Temple in the 60th minute.
Stephanie Vietry, who along with Dalton assisted on Lare's second goal, finished the scoring with her first tally of the season in the 64th minute.
Sophomore keeper Elizabeth Tarasevich recorded six saves in goal for Temple in recording her second win of the season.
The score could even have been more lopsided as Gage made 13 saves in the net for Canisius. Temple out-shot Canisius, 32-17, in the contest.
The Owls, now 2-1 on the season, play next at Long Island on September 8 at 5:00 p.m. Canisius falls to 0-2.
