PHILADELPHIA -- Danielle Fagan, Nikki Lee, Courtney Norene and Jessica Weckenman have all signed National Letters of Intent to play softball at Temple University, head coach Rocci Pignoli announced. The quartet will begin their collegiate careers in 2006.

Fagan (Lester, Pa.) was a second team all-state selection last season as a junior at Interboro High School. The infielder batted .314 with four home runs and 22 RBI to earn first team All-Del-Val and All-Delco Times for the second straight season. She played travel softball for the Pennsbury Gems.

Lee (Moreno Valley, Calif.) is a catcher/third baseman that batted .400 last year to earn first team all-league honors for the third time in her career at Canyon Springs High School. She batted .375 while playing for the SoCal Vipers Gold travel softball team.

Norene (Wheatland, Calif.) is a two-time all-league selection at Wheatland High School and was the Co-MVP of the Butte View League in 2004. She helped her ASA team, California Chaos, finish 25th at the 18U Nationals after batting .333 with two home runs.

Weckenman (Richboro, Pa.) is an infielder from Council Rock North High School who was a first team all-Suburban One League and Bucks County Courier Times Golden Team selection in 2004. The younger sister of Temple senior baseball player Mike Weckenman, she was a teammate of Fagan on the Pennsbury Gems.

Temple is the defending Atlantic 10 Champion and finished its 2004 campaign with a 30-18 record. The Owls open their season on February 11 versus Radford at the UNC Triangle Classic.
