PENN DOWNS TEMPLE, 2-0, IN WOMEN'S SOCCER

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's soccer team fell to Penn, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference match at Rhodes Field.

 

The Quakers (7-3-2) struck first in the 52nd minute of play as senior midfielder Jenna Linden played the ball to freshman Natalie Capuano in the front of the net. Capuano then blasted the ball past Temple goalkeeper Tiffany Kasunich. Penn added an insurance goal in the 87th minute when Linden struck again, setting up a shot for Carolyn Cross on the rush.

 

In goal, Owl keeper Tiffany Kasunich registered four saves while Penn's keeper, Jessica Keeley, recorded one. The Quakers out shot the Owls (1-12-0), 13-2.   Owl starters Caitlin Pink and Katrina Lynch each recorded a shot on goal.

 

The Owls next host La Salle on Friday afternoon (3:00 p.m.) at Ambler Field.
