THREE INDUCTED INTO TEMPLE ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME

PHILADELPHIA - Kathie Daley (lacrosse, field hockey), Tim Koopman (gymnastics) and Anthony Young (football) have been selected for induction into the Temple University Athletic Hall of Fame.
The 2005 Temple Athletic Hall of Fame Class will be officially inducted on Friday, October 14, at a ceremony in the The Liacouras Center. The new inductees will be welcomed into the Hall of Fame at halftime of Saturday's homecoming football game.
Daley earned All-American honors in lacrosse and also starred in field hockey for Temple. She is listed prominently in the Temple record book. She is first in goals scored in a game, netting 11 in 1980 against Montclair. She earned lacrosse All-American honors in 1979.
Koopman competed for Temple during the 1984-85 and 1985-86 seasons. In 1985 he placed second on the pommel horse at the NCAA championships and earned All-American honors in that event. He also earned All-American recognition on horizontal bar. He led the Owls to two Eastern Intercollegiate Gymnastics League titles.
Young was an outstanding defensive back and still holds the Temple record for career pass interceptions with 20 (1981-84). He is the top punt returner in Temple history and returned three punts for touchdowns, another record. Co-captain of the 1984 team, he was drafted in the NFL third round by the Indianapolis Colts.
ANTHONY YOUNG
(FOOTBALL)
Young was an outstanding defensive back for Temple during the 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984 seasons. Co-captain of the 1984 team, he holds seven Temple records and shares another. He leads in career pass interceptions (20), career punts returned (74), season punt returns (26, 1982, 1984), career punt return yardage (715), season punt return yardage (305, 1982), career punt returns for touchdowns (3), season punt returns for touchdowns (2, 1982). He is tied for game punt return yardage (99 vs. Cincinnati, 1984). He was drafted in the NFL third round by the Indianapolis Colts.
KATHIE DALEY
(LACROSSE, FIELD HOCKEY)
Daley earned All-American honors in lacrosse and also starred in field hockey for Temple. She is listed prominently in the Temple lacrosse record book. Kathie is first in goals scored in a game, netting 11 goals against Montclair in 1980. She is tied for second in most points in a game with 11 against Montclair.She is third in most points in a season with 96 in 1980. She ranks fourth in most goals in a career with 199. She is also fourth in most goals in a season with 78 in 1980. She earned lacrosse All-American honors in 1979.
TIM KOOPMAN
(GYMNASTICS)
Koopman competed for Temple during the 1984-85 and 1985-86 seasons. In 1985 he placed second on the pommel horse at the NCAA championships and earned All-American honors in that event. He also earned All-American recognition on horizontal bar. He led the Owls to two EIGL championships. He captured the EIGL all-around crown in 1985 and also won individual titles on pommel horse and parallel bars. He repeated as the EIGL all-around champion in 1986 and was also the event titlist in pommel horse, rings, parallel bars and horizontal bar.
