ELIZABETHTOWN, PA -- Temple University women's soccer coach David Jones was inducted into Elizabethtown College's Hall of Fame Sunday, October 16.  Jones, who missed his team's 3-2 double overtime win over George Washington to attend the ceremony, was honored for his athletic contributions to the Blue Jays' soccer and basketball programs.

Elizabethtown's men's soccer team reached the NCAA Division III tournament every year Jones played for the Blue Jays. In his career, he was named a Middle Atlantic Conference All-Star in 1984 and 1985, and he was an All-Region honorable mention selection in 1984.  His highest honor came in 1985, his senior year, when the team captain earned First Team All-American. During his years at Elizabethtown, the men's soccer team posted a 58-19-13 overall record.

A versatile soccer player who was listed everywhere from forward to back on rosters in his time at Elizabethtown, he was named Elizabethtown's Defensive Most Valuable Player of the 1984 Blue Jay Classic Tournament and the Offensive Most Valuable Player in the next year's Blue Jay Classic. In his career, he tallied 11 goals and 12 assists for Elizabethtown.

In basketball, Jones led Elizabethtown in free throw shooting percentage with .875 in 1984-85.
