DAYTON, OHIO -- The Temple Owls were shut out by the Dayton Flyers in their second Atlantic 10 Conference match Sunday, October 2nd. Dayton exhibited a strong offensive unit as five different players scored for the Flyers in posting the 5-0 win.

Owl keeper Tiffany Kasunich put out an outstanding effort in the first half, permitting only one goal off of 20 shots attempted by the Flyers.  At 32:55, sophomore Dara Elk found the net off of a rebound attempted by Natalia Walters.

The first of four second half goals scored by Dayton was netted by senior Reba Sedlacek in the 59th as she buried a shot from 12 yards out with an assist from redshirt freshman April Carbajal. Dayton tacked on three goals in the final 12 minutes of the match to seal the victory. Freshman Anne Mariscalco struck for her first collegiate goal as she buried a crossing pass from Meghan Borysiak in the 79th minute. Senior Katie Lowstuter struck just 36 seconds after Mariscalco's goal for her first tally of the season. Lowstuter fired a shot from nearly 30 yards out that snuck in under the crossbar. Borysiak helped set up the Flyers' final tally as she took a shot that was saved by Kasunich. The rebound came right to a wide-open Annette Bonasso who scored from close range in the 89th minute.

The Flyers (6-3-2) out-shot the Owls (1-9-0), 37-3. Dayton also dominated on corner kicks, 18-1. Temple goalkeeper Tiffany Kasunich made eight saves in the game.

The Owls return home to Ambler on Friday, October 7 to face off against A-10 newcomer Saint Louis.
