WOMEN'S SOCCER GOES WRIGHT WAY IN SENIOR DAY WIN OVER WAGNER

10.23.05 | Women's Soccer

AMBLER, PA -- Charisma Wright likes to work overtime, which is good for the Temple women's soccer team as the Owl freshman made Senior Day special by tallying her second game-winner in extra time to lead the Cherry and White to a 2-1 overtime win over visiting Wagner Sunday afternoon.   Wright had also scored the game-winner in the team's 3-2 double overtime win over George Washington.

Wright beat Wagner goalie Leslie Reed four minutes into overtime.  Wright carried the ball past a diving Reed and found the back of the net for the win.

The Seahawks opened the scoring at 20:11 when Heather Daubert fought through traffic in front of the net and found the net.

Owl sophomore Debbie Painter tied the score by converting a penalty kick in the 66th minute.  Painter was fouled in the box while going in on a breakaway.

Temple out shot Wagner, 16-10, marking the first time the Owls have out shot an opponent this season.

The Owls, 3-13-1, honored seniors Samantha and Stephanie Vietry, Jaclyn Conn and Kate Lamplugh in their final home game of their careers.  Wagner falls to  2-9-2.

Temple next travels to Atlantic 10 Conference rival St. Bonaventure on Friday, October 28.
