10.28.05 | Women's Soccer

ST. BONAVENTURE, NY --The Temple women's soccer team scored the first two goals of the game and held on for a 2-1 win over host St. Bonaventure Friday afternoon.  After posting just one win in their first 14 matches, the Owls (4-13-1, 2-5-1) are now undefeated in their last four contests.

Temple freshman Wendy Halina scored the lone goal of the first half.  She blasted the ball past Bonnies goalkeeper Lisa Eberhart from 18 yards out for her second goal of the season.

Temple wasted little time to get back on the board in the second half as CharismaWright received a perfectly placed through-ball from Jenna Rankin and converted the breakaway to give the Owls a 2-0 advantage in the 46th minute. This was Wright's team-leading fourth goal of the season.

The Bonnies found the net in the 79th minute when senior Heather MacDougall scored her A-10 --leading 11th goal of the season on a corner kick from sophomore Jessica Bartock.

The Bonnies (2-14-0, 1-7-0) controlled the offensive play, owning a 13-8 advantage in shots and a 7-0 edge in corner kicks.   Freshman Tiffany Kasunich was strong in goal for the Owls, posting seven saves to help preserve the win.

The Owls will next travel to Atlantic 10 Conference rival Fordham Sunday for a 1:00 p.m. match.
