MASLESA LEADS WOMEN'S TENNIS AT PSU CLASSIC

STATE COLLEGE, PA -- Senior Ana Maslesa led the Temple women's tennis team in its final competition of the fall season, winning at both first singles and doubles at the PSU Classic on Friday afternoon. The Classic, which features Mock Duals among the Owls, West Virginia and host Penn State, concludes Saturday.
Maslesa teamed with junior Yuri Kurashima to defeat WVU's Stacey Percival and Raynie Theis, 8-4. The Owls doubles pairs of Jen Goeta and Felicia Frazier, and Allison Altdoerffer and Sharanya Pattabi fell at second and third doubles, respectively.
Maslesa won her singles match over PSU's Jenny Shular, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. Pattabi topped PSU's s Katelyn Bevard, 1-6, 6-1, 6-1 at fourth singles while Frazier earned the Owls' only other singles win, besting Kristine Harclerode, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
The format that the three teams will follow will be a dual meet containing two rounds of singles and two rounds of doubles. Since the tournament is a mock dual, there will be no team scoring because it will be counted as an individual tournament.
