PHILADELPHIA -- Senior forward Stephanie Vietry has been named to 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II Women's Soccer team.  The 11-member squad was selected by a vote of the district's sports information directors.  She is now placed on the national ballot for the 2005 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Women's Soccer Team to be announced on November 22.

A finance major, Vietry has earned a 3.93 cumulative grade point average at Temple.  The Cranston, R.I, native also was among the Top 10 student-athletes at Temple in 2004-05, earning a spot on the Board of Trustees Honor Roll presented annually at the University's Breakfast of Champions.  Vietry also earned academic all-Atlantic 10 honors in 2004 and 2005 and was a second team academic all-District honoree in 2004.

On the playing field, the team co-captain played in all 19 games, making 16 starts.  She led the Owls in assists with three, upping her total to seven for her career.  A four-year starter, Vietry scored 10 career goals, leading the Owls in that category as a sophomore with three.  Her best offensive season came in 2002 as a freshman when she scored five goals and dished two assists for 12 points to earn a spot on the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Rookie Team.
