WOMEN'S CREW OPENS SEASON WITH STRONG SHOWING AT THE KEUPER CUP

-- Temple women's crew opened their season with two winning performances at the Keuper Cup hosted by Florida Tech on Saturday March 12.

The Owls' Varsity and JV eights both captured first place finishes in the season's opening regatta.  The Varsity 8 of Sarah Evancho, Stephanie Hanlin, Rachel Jordan, Nicole Warrick, Ulana Luciw, Leah Silverstein, Regina Rahill, Callie Gunnet, and Kristen Herrmann won over open water over Marietta and Florida Tech.  The JV 8 of Robin Wang, Lauren Fattori, Dama Lewis, Alexis Sakulich, Emily Smith, Pia King, April Gaskins, Amanda Barr, and Nicole Toner took first place over Marietta by nearly 20 seconds.

The Temple Novice 8 of Jennifer Azeles, Anne Marie Mikolajewski, Robin Hernandez, Lindsay Mauk, Sherri Long, Sara Nguyen, Kate Guth, Ariel Weissburg, and Jenn Scattene held their own in the JV 8 event, finishing just seven seconds behind Marietta.  The Novice 4 of Laura Austin, Gaskin, Barr, Jackie Swan and Brittany Walsh captured a second place finish.

Temple Women's Crew competes again in two weeks (March 26) when they host the Murphy Cup Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
