WOMEN'S TENNIS FALLS TO RICHMOND, 5-2

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's tennis team challenged the class of the Atlantic 10 Conference in women's tennis, defending champion Richmond, Saturday afternoon at TU Pavilion. The Owls came away with a 5-2 loss, but also with the knowledge that they can compete with the league's upper echelon.
Sharanya Pattabi picked up the lone singles win for the Cherry and White, taking a 6-4, 6-7 (7-4), 10-6 match at number five singles. The Owls' number one singles player, junior Ana Maslesa, lost a closely contested match, 6-3, 6-4, and Yuri Kurashima fell 6-1, 7-5 at second singles.
Temple next hosts Saint Joseph's at TU Pavilion on April 1 at 4:00 p.m.
