#7 MICHIGAN TOPS TEMPLE, 4-0, IN USF LOUISVILLE SLUGGER TOURNAMENT

TAMPA, FL -- Seventh-ranked Michigan used two homers and solid pitching to defeat Temple, 4-0, Saturday morning at the USF-Louisville Slugger Tournament hosted by the University of South Florida.
Fiirst baseman Samantha Findlay hit a solo homer in the second inning and shortstop Jennifer Merchant blasted a three-run shot in the third to lift the seventh-ranked Michigan Wolverines to a 4-0 win over Temple. All four runs were charged to freshman starter Jennifer Nacianceno, who allowed six hits in her two and one-third innings of work. Cara L'Etoile pitched thee and two-third innings of scoreless relief, allowing just one hit while striking out three. It was Findlay's seventh homer of the season and Merchant's sixth for Michigan, which improved to 19-1 on the season.
Senior shortstop Aida Esquer broke up Lorilyn Wilson's no-hitter with a double in the fifth inning. Wilson, who struck out 10 batters against just one walk, improved her record to 7-0.
Temple (4-9) continues play in the USF Louisville Slugger Tournament when it plays Jacksonville at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.
