TAMPA, FL -- Temple scored three unearned runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and sophomore pitcher Richelle Villescas held the Jacksonville bats in check as the Owls won defeated the Dolphins, 3-2, Saturday afternoon at the USF-Louisville Slugger Tournament.  The win lifts Temple to 5-9 on the season while Jacksonville falls to 8-12.

Trailing 1-0 in the fourth, Aida Esquer started the Owls rally with a one-out single.  Makeala Compton then doubled to put runners at second and third. Sophomore Rolanda Marable then came in to pinch run for Compton.  Esquer would score the tying run on an errant pick-off attempt with Marable advancing to third.  Lauren Evan then sent a fly ball to right that was misplayed, scoring Marable.  Melissa McCartney reached on fielder's choice and stole second.  She scored on another error by Dolphin right fielder Jillian Mirante for the Owls' third run of the game.

Jacksonville managed only one run the rest of the way off Villescas, who notched her fifth win of the season.  She allowed just six hits and struck out four on the day.

Temple concludes the tournament tomorrow with games against Florida and South Florida.
