FRENGS NETS FIVE AS WOMEN'S LACROSSE DOWNS BONNIES, 12-6

OLEAN, N.Y.-Temple's offensive tandum of Allison Frengs and Patty Glavin struck again as the two combined for eight of the Owls' 12 goals in Sunday's win over St. Bonaventure. Temple (8-6) led 6-3 at the half and added six more in the second stanza to secure its second straight victory and fourth in the Atlantic 10. The Bonnies fall to 9-5 and 1-5 in Conference play.
Corey Leader began the scoring for the Owls with a goal at 26:29 mark. Sarah Dressler answered back with a goal of her own just a minute later to knot the at 1-1. That would be as close as Temple would allow, however, as the Owls went on to score four straight goals to take a 5-1 lead by 11:27. Leader started the run unassisted at 23:55 and Glavin and Frengs chipped in with three more. The Bonnies scored two quick goals to end the run and put them within two but Glavin struck again just before the end of the half to make it a 6-3 contest.
Glavin earned a free position to begin the second half and put Temple up 7-3 just one minute into the stanza. The Bonnies answered with back-to-back goals from Megan Murphy and Kelly Chevez to bring the brown and white within two, at 7-5. Just as they had in the first half, Temple went on a scoring run to widen the gap and ensure the win. Whitney Richards fed Casey Cech and Frengs for the next two tallies at 22:52 and 22:15, respectively, while Johna Capaldo contributed an unassisted goal at 10:36. SBU scored one more before the game ended to make it 10-6 but Frengs scored two more down the stretch for the 12-6 final.
Megan McLouth had another big day in goal, earning 13 saves. Eboni Preston stopped 10 shots in goal for the Bonnies.
Temple returns home to wrap up the regular season on Friday, April 29th and Sunday, May 1st. The Owls face UMass on the 29th at 3 p.m. and end against Conference leader George Washington on Sunday at 1 p.m.
