A.J. LINDSAY SIGNS ROOKIE FREE AGENT CONTRACT WITH GREEN BAY PACKERS

PHILADELPHIA - The Green Bay Packers today announced that they have signed former Temple defensive tackle A.J. Lindsay to a rookie free agent contract.

Lindsay, who decided to forgo his senior season in 2005 and enter the NFL Draft, played in 10 games (six starts) for the Owls as a first-year junior last season. He made 29 tackles (eight solo), three tackles-for-losses, 0.5 sacks and two pass break-ups. Lindsay (6-3, 320) arrived on North Broad Street after playing two seasons at Joliet (Ill.) College, where he was a cited as 2003 Second Team Preseason Junior College All-American by both JC Grid-Wire and the NJCAA.

The Kokomo, Indiana native joins former Temple football standout Chonn Lacey (1998-2001) on the Packers' roster. Lacey, currently allocated to play for the Frankfurt Galaxy in NFL Europe, is the cousin of Temple linebacker Rian Wallace, who was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round of the draft on April 24.
