WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYERS EARN A-10 HONORS

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University junior Ana Maslesa has been named to the 2005 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis All-Conference team while teammate Laura Seiverling, also a junior, has been selected to the 2005 Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Academic All-Conference team.  The all-conference team was voted on by the league's coaches following the A-10 Women's Tennis Championships. The academic all-conference team is voted on by the league's sports information directors.

 

Maslesa, who also earned all-conference honors as a sophomore in 2004, led the Owls with a 14-10 record at #1 singles.  The Split, Croatia native 42-22 career singles mark, and is currently ranked 26th in the district.

 

Seiverling, who compiled a 10-10 singles record while playing mainly at the third slot, has earned a 3.95 cumulative grade point average with psychology as her major field of study.  The Hershey, PA native was named to the Trustees Honor Roll (Top 10 GPAs by Temple student-athlete) at the University's Annual Breakfast of Champions.

 

The Owls finished the 2005 season under first year head coach Traci Green with a 5-12 record.  Temple also placed fourth at the A-10 Championships.
