Ambler, Pa. - Haley Lentsch netted three goals in the first 15 minutes of the game to help lead the visiting Fordham Rams to a 5-1 win over the Temple women's soccer team on Friday afternoon at the Ambler Sports Complex. The Owls fall to 3-14 overall and 0-8 in A-10 play, while the Fordham Rams improve to 11-6 overall and 5-3 in Conference play.

Lentsch first found the back of the net in the seventh minute after collecting a pass from Courtney Fedge and blasting a shot from about 20 yards out into the upper right-hand corner of the goal, just out of Temple goalkeeper Tiffany Kasunich's reach. The senior forward struck again just three minutes later when Leah Jerome found a cutting Lentsch in the box, making it 2-0 Fordham. Lentsch and Jerome weren't finished yet, however. Lentsch settled a pass from Jerome on her right foot and booted it into the back of the net in the ninth minute to give the Rams a three-goal advantage. Fordham continued to pressure the Owl defense but took the 3-0 lead into the half.

The Rams continued to fire early in the second half but Temple refused to back down. Charisma Wright and Elena Hekimian were able to force a breakaway and give the Owls their first goal in four games. Wright flicked the ball to Hekimian who bobbled the ball and then tapped a shot past Fordham goalie Elisabeth Roald. Dana Kerem nearly gave TU its second goal but her header was saved by Roald. The Cherry and White comeback was short lived, however, as the Rams rattled off two quick goals to make it 5-1 with just under 14 minutes to play. Holly Laubinger and Jerome each scored for Fordham. Lentsch struggled in the second half and was ejected with just over two minutes to play but the Owls failed to capitalize on the extra man opportunity.

Kasunich and Tarasevich each made two saves a piece while Roald stopped two Temple shots.

The Owls host St. Bonaventure on Sunday at 1 p.m. in their final game of the 2006 season.
