2.25.06 | Women's Tennis
NEW YORK -- An injury-depleted Temple women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 match at Columbia Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Owls fall to 5-4 on the season. The Lions improve to 2-2.
Freshman Felicia Frazier posted the lone TU win, besting Nina Suda, 1-6, 7-5 (10-7) at fourth singles. Yuri Kurashima, Sharanya Pattabie and Eva Marsalkova lost in straight sets in the top three singles flights, respectively. Kurashima and Pattabi did win a tight first doubles match, 9-7. Frazier and Marsalkova, however, dropped a closely-contested second doubles match, 8-6.
Temple defaulted at fifth and sixth singles as well as third doubles as the Owls played without injured senior Ana Maslesa, the team's number one singles player, and junior Barbara Oria Boer.
Temple next plays at Cornell on March 4.
