PHILADELPHIA- Temple University Assistant Softball Coach Nina Lindenberg has been selected as one of 35 finalists for the 25th Anniversary NCAA Women's Softball Championship Team. After extensive research and discussion, an expert panel compiled a list of Division I softball student-athletes who performed well in NCAA championships over the last 25 years. Voting, which is currently being conducted on NCAASports.com, will remain open until April 1.  Fans can vote for their top 10 softball student-athletes as well as their top coach.

As a collegian, Lindenberg was a First Team All-America selection as a sophomore and senior (1996, 98) at Fresno State and a three-time All-West Region selection (1996-98). She was also a Second Team All-America selection in 1997.  In 1998, Lindenberg hit the game-winning home run as Fresno State beat Arizona to win the National Championship. She was voted the Western Athletic Conference Player of the Year in 1996 and 1998 and the WAC Athlete of the Year in 1996. She was a member of the Women's College World Series All-Tournament Team in 1997 and 1998 and a Gold Medal winner at the Pan-American Qualifier those years.

NCAA Division I Softball held its first championship in 1982 and will be celebrating its 25th Anniversary at the 2006 championship. To commemorate this milestone a 25th Anniversary Team consisting of 10 student-athletes and one coach will be named. The 25th anniversary of NCAA women's championships will be celebrated throughout the 2005-06 championship season.
