OLD DOMINION DEFEATS TEMPLE, 6-1, IN WOMEN'S TENNIS

NORFOLK, VA -- Junior Yuri Kurashima won her 10th match at first singles, but it was the only point the undermanned Temple women's tennis team could muster in a 6-1 loss at Old Dominion Wednesday afternoon. The Owls dropped to 9-11on the season while the Lady Monarchs improve to 13-8.
Kurashima, who posted her team-best 18th singles win against nine losses, defeated Kerstin Endlich, 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (6). Senior Ana Maslesa made her return to the courts after missing the previous 14 matches due to a broken arm suffered in early February. The all-conference performer dropped her second singles match, 6-1, 6-2, to Charleen Haarfhoff, 6-1, 6-2.
Freshman Felicia Frazier and junior Barbara Oria Boer lost straight set matches at third and fourth singles. Temple defaulted the final two singles slots.
The Owls next play at La Salle on April 18 before heading to the Atlantic 10 Championships, April 21-23, at Club 4 Life in Monroeville, PA.
