FORMER TEMPLE WOMEN'S LACROSSE STANDOUT MANDEE MOORE NAMED TO NCAA DIVISION I 25TH ANNIVERSARY TEAM

INDIANAPOLIS-Former Temple women's lacrosse standout Mandee Moore has been named to the NCAA's 25th Anniversary Women's Lacrosse Team. Moore is one of 12 former student-athletes and one coach being honored for their outstanding achievements while competing and coaching in NCAA championships. The NCAA is celebrating the 25th anniversary of women's championships in several sports during the 2005-06 athletic season.
Moore was a three-time first-team All-American and the NCAA's Midfielder of the Year in 1987 and '88. She helped Temple to the 1988 national championship and played in the North-South All-Star Game. Moore played on the IFWLA World Cup Champion 1989 and 1993 U.S. teams. She played nine years of post-collegiate club lacrosse. Moore has served as the head coach at Yale since 1993, winning the Coach of the Year award in '96. She has served as chair of the U.S. team selection committee and on the former USWLA Board of Directors. Lacrosse Magazine named her its 1988 Player of the Year. She was named the USWLA's Beth Allen Award winner in 1997.
She was inducted into the United States National Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2005 and the Temple Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004.
Moore joins Jen Adams (Maryland), Kelly Amonte (Maryland), Amy Appelt (Virginia), Rachael Becker (Princeton), Karen Emas (Delaware), Sarah Forbes (Maryland), Cherie Greer (Virginia), Alex Kahoe (Maryland), Lauren Simone (Princeton), Tracy Stumpf (Maryland), Tami Worley (Penn) and Coach Cindy Timchal (Maryland) on the Anniversary Team.
An expert sports panel picked the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse 25th Anniversary Team. The panel consisted of current and former coaches; athletics administrators and sports information directors. Boston University will host the semifinals and finals of the 2006 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championships, May 26-28, in Boston.
