WOMEN'S TENNIS TOPS DUQUESNE, 4-1, IN A-10 TOURNAMENT

MONROEVILLE, PA -- The Temple women's tennis team defeated fifth-seeded Duquesne, 4-1, to advance to Sunday's fifth-place match. The eighth-seeded Owls (12-12) will take on the winner of sixth-seeded George Washington against seventh-seeded Saint Louis at 11:00 a.m. at Club 4 Life.
Junior Yuri Kurashima won her 20th singles match of the year with a 6-1, 6-3 decision over Johanna Bezjak. The win improved her record at first singles to 12-3. Kurashima teamed with sophomore Sharanya Pattabi for an 8-5 win at first doubles. Sophomore Barbara Oria Boer and freshman Felicia Frazier took the second doubles position with an 8-3 win t give the Owls the first point of the match.
Frazier and Oria Boer took their singles matches at the fifth and sinth slots, respectively to give Temple its four points for the win. Frazier improved to 16-10 at singles play with the win.
