PHILADELPHIA -- Temple head football coach Al Golden will throw out the first pitch at this Wednesday evening's (April 26) Phillies versus Rockies game at Citizens Bank Park.  The Temple University Medical School choir will sing the national anthem at the game, which has been designated as one of six "College Nights" by the Phillies.

Temple students, faculty & alumni are invited to enjoy a $7.00 discount off $35-$15 regular price tickets purchased online for the game via the promotions page at www.phillies.com.  The game is slated for a 7:05 p.m. start.

The Owls recently completed their first spring practice season under Golden.  Named the University's 24th head football coach on December 6, 2005, the Colts Neck, N.J. native spent the past five seasons as defensive coordinator at the University of Virginia.  He has 12 postseason bowl games on his resume, including four as a player at Penn State.  The 36-year old Golden is the third-youngest head coach in Division I-A football.

Temple opens its 2006 regular season on Thursday evening, August 31, at Buffalo.  The Owls host Louisville on Saturday, September 9, in their first of four home games at Lincoln Financial Field.
