PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple women's tennis team was honored Wednesday morning at the Breakfast of Champions for the fourth straight year for compiling the highest aggregate grade point average among the University's 24 varsity athletic teams.  The Owls combined to earn a 3.29 cumulative grade point average, one of seven Temple teams to compile an aggregate 3.0 grade point average.

"This is a tremendous accomplishment," Temple women's tennis coach Traci Green said. "I am so proud of our hard work in the classroom.  As coaches we want our young ladies to succeed first in academics and then on the court.  So this season has been a very rewarding one."

Temple posted a 13-12 record, the program's first winning season since 1999-2000.  The Owls also placed fifth in the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships.  Junior captain Yuri Kurashima led the squad with 20 singles wins.
