DAYTON, OHIO -- Temple swept an Atlantic 10 doubleheader by scoring the game-winning run in their final at bat of a 10-inning, 5-4 game two win.  The Owls took the first game by scoring twice in the seventh for a 3-2 win. Temple has now won its last four games, improving to 11-16 for the season and 4-2 in the Atlantic 10.

Things looked bleak for the Owls in game one when they entered the seventh inning trailing 2-0. With one out in the seventh, the Cherry and White got a double by senior Lauren Evans and a walk from freshman Courtney Norene.  A double courtesy of junior Adrienne Repsher got the Owls on the board. With runners on second and third, sophomore Amanda Carver hit a grounder to third and the Flyers came home to try and cut down the tying run. As the ball and runner arrived together, the ball squirted to the backstop, allowing two runs to score on the play. The Flyers were unable to get back on the board, and the game ended, 3-2, in Temple's favor.

Junior Jessica Rohn led off the second game with a homer to left center. After a single and a stolen base, freshman pitcher Katie Burdeaux delivered a RBI single up the middle for a 2-0 lead. An error and a double led to a 4-0 Owl advantage and Dayton's Melissa Myher came in to replace starter Chelsea Grozenski with two outs. The Flyers cut into the lead in the third as Mollie Schrank singled to Burdeaux, stole second and scored on a single by Tami Roudebush.

In the fifth, Dayton's Ellie Malchow started the inning by reaching on an error. Christine Eggers was hit by a pitch and Shayln Adams reached on a fielder's choice to load the bases. Tamsyn Kellough singled to right center to cut the margin to 4-2, and Blair Crabtree followed with a single to right center to tie the game.

Neither team could get back on the board until the Cherry and White found a way in the 10th inning.  Junior Makeala Compton singled to center. She was sacrificed to second by Burdeaux and scored on a single by Danielle Fagan.

The Owls have played against Dayton 25 times since the teams first met in 1996. Temple leads the series, 18-7.  The Cherry and White return home on Tuesday, April 11 to take on non-conference rival Saint Francis (PA) in a single game at Ambler Field. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
